Milk Miracle Unlimited
The miracle of the Indian dairy industry continues to battle. Set to
become the world's biggest milk producer in the next year or two, India now boasts no less
than 70 million individual milk producers (over 7% of the total population) who milk 57 m
cows and 39 m buffaloes.
The vast ramifications of the remarkable Indian dairy industry are
brought right up-to-date again in the equally remarkable 'DAIRY INDIA ', the 5th (1997) edition of which was launched in Delhi last week, published
independently by P.R.Gupta. The aim is to publish the DAIRY INDIA every 2 yrs, but so massive is the task that only five DAIRY INDIA have been produced in the past 16 yrs -- the last one 4 yrs ago. Covering over
900 pages, the DIARY INDIA is almost certainly the most
comprehensive analysis published by any milk producing country in the world.
